QA and Software Testing

Find the problems before your customers do.

Quality assurance and testing, so a release is judged on evidence rather than optimism. Manual testing, automated testing, performance testing, security testing and usability testing, planned against your requirements instead of against the code.

The work is documented end to end: test planning, test case design, test execution, defect tracking and reporting. Defects arrive with steps to reproduce, the environment they were seen in and a severity, so your engineers can fix them without a round of questions.

Security testing is not left to a scanner. Our testers are trained in ethical hacking and penetration testing, so the tooling is a starting point and every finding is confirmed by hand before it reaches the report.

Delivery gets the same attention. We build the continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, so the suite runs on every change and the build that ships is the build that passed.

What is included.

The work this service is scoped around. Anything outside it is agreed in writing before we start.

  • Test planning and strategy

Scope, risk, environments and entry criteria agreed before a single case is written.

  • Test case design and execution

Traceable cases run against the requirement they came from.

  • Manual functional testing

People using the product the way a customer will, including the awkward paths.

  • Automated regression suites

Suites that run on every commit and report failures with screenshots and logs.

  • Performance and load testing

Establish the throughput and latency ceiling, then confirm behaviour past it.

  • Security testing by hand

Ethical hacking and penetration testing specialists confirming every finding, not a scanner report.

  • Usability testing

Where real users hesitate, get lost or give up, recorded and prioritised.

  • Defect tracking and reporting

Reproducible defects, severity, ownership and a defect trend you can read.

  • Continuous integration and delivery

Pipelines that build, test and gate the release automatically.

  • Mobile, browser and device coverage

Real devices and browsers rather than emulators alone.

Scope it, price it, decide.

Tell us what you are trying to do. We come back with the options, what each one costs and the order we would do the work in.

What we test.

Whatever the product is made of, and whatever it has to survive.

  • Web applications

Functional, regression and cross browser passes over the whole journey.

  • Mobile applications

Android and iOS on real hardware, including upgrades and poor networks.

  • APIs and integrations

Contract, boundary and error path checks against the published interface.

  • Performance and scale

Load, stress and soak runs that surface leaks, queues and slow degradation.

  • Security

Manual exploitation of the same surfaces an attacker would work.

  • Usability

Observed sessions that find where the interface loses people.

How a test cycle runs.

Four stages, each one ending in something you can read and act on.

  • 01

    Plan

Scope, risk, environments and what "done" means for this release.

  • 02

    Design

Cases written against the requirement, automated where automation pays.

  • 03

    Execute

Manual passes, suites and specialist testing, with defects logged as they are found.

  • 04

    Report

Coverage, defect trend, what is still risky and whether the release should ship.

What you get at the end of it.

Findings are only useful if they can be acted on.

Test plan
What was in scope, what was not, and the risk behind both.
Case library
Traceable cases you keep, whether or not you keep us.
Defect list
Reproducible steps, severity and current status for every open defect.
Automation suite
The regression tests themselves, in your repository, with a pipeline that runs them.
Release recommendation
A plain statement of whether this build should go out, and what to watch if it does.

How testing looks here.

  • Checklist of test cases

Cases written against the requirement, not against the code

  • Source code under test

Defects traced back to the code that caused them

Questions we are asked.

Do you only test, or do you fix as well?

Both, depending on what you want. Most clients take the test report and fix it themselves; the rest hand the defects back to the team that built the software.

Can you test a product another company built?

Yes, and it is common. We test against the requirements and the running product, so access to the codebase is useful but not required.

How is your security testing different from a scanner?

The scanner runs first. Then a tester trained in ethical hacking and penetration testing confirms, exploits and rules out what it reported, so the report has findings rather than noise.
